STUDIO POLICIES

GENERAL STUDIO

1)Please arrive on time for your lesson. Students should have clean hands and fingernails, especially if using one of our pianos.

2)Students who are missing books/instruments/peripherals may have their lesson forfeited if alternatives can not be provided.

3)Parents should regularly be in contact with their child’s instructor regarding progress, effort, and demeanor. Parents are always welcome during their child’s lesson, and it is strongly advised that parents sit in at least a few times per semester.

4)Please leave play areas and waiting areas in an orderly state i.e. toys should be put away and magazines should be returned to the rack, etc. Anyone waiting outside classrooms should use inside voices and avoid disruptive behavior. Parents are responsible for their child’s actions.

5)Students must be registered before their first lesson to reserve their day and time.

MISSED LESSONS

1)Students are only guaranteed ONE makeup per semester. Instructors may grant additional makeup(s) solely at their discretion. If a student knows they are going to miss a lesson, they should let their instructor know as soon as possible. Students will receive makeups for any instructor absences.

2)No portion of tuition, paid or outstanding, shall be refunded or cancelled due to absence, withdrawal, or dismissal.

3)If the Carroll County Public Schools and/or the Carroll County Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, Opus usually aligns. It is the sole discretion of the instructor whether to reschedule or provide a virtual lesson.

4)Weekend students may have their lesson time conflict with studio events. In these cases, alternative day and times will be provided.

STUDENT ACCOUNTS

NOTE: All inquiries regarding billing should be directed to the attention of Rebecca Borger.

1)Students will automatically be invoiced after registration. Payment is due immediately, unless we are informed that the student desires a flexible payment plan.

2)Requests for financial aid scholarships should be made as soon as possible for the best chance of an affirmative decision.

3)Sibling discounts are available only upon request. A 10% discount will be applied to each sibling after the initial registration.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

While Opus strives to provide ample information regarding studio events and policies, and communicate with parents and students regularly, it is the student’s responsibility to be aware of closings, instructor absences, recitals, etc.
