William Kass

William Kass is a cellist and educator originally from St. Louis, Missouri. William studied cello performance at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of Amit Peled. While there, William was also mentored in pedagogy by Bai-Chi Chen. He then pursued further studies with Troy Stuart in Baltimore and then with Alison Wells at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance. William also received a Diploma (with distinction) in Instrumental Music Teaching from the ABRSM. He has appeared in masterclasses for Ronald Leonard, Hans Jørgen Jensen, Colin Carr, and Timothy Eddy. As a chamber musician, William received instruction from members of the Takács, Juilliard, Brentano, Miró, and Borromeo Quartets.

William has been featured as a soloist with the Alton Symphony (IL) and the St. Louis Civic Orchestra. He has collaborated with artists such as Nicola Benedetti, Johannes Moser, and members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony.
